For training use only
The standalone Trainer AED, model number DDU-100TR, is a dedicated training system used by AED training participants to learn how to be prepared for a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergency. Training class participants are instructed in the use of an AED as part of a standard rescue protocol from American Heart Association in the event someone suffers SCA.
It is externally similar to a fully-functional Defibtech DDU-100 Series Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), known as the Lifeline AED and the Lifeline AUTO, in form and operation but all rubberized exterior surfaces are red over-molding, instead of black, to clearly distinguish the unit as a training device that cannot be used to defibrillate a real patient. The reusable training pads and rechargeable battery pack have red packaging and labels to distinguish them as being for training use only.
A remote control is provided with the Trainer AED. It allows the instructor to control training exercises and functions from a distance. Trainer AEDs are factory programmed to function in Semi-Automatic mode, but can be configured with the remote control to operate in either Semi-Automatic or Fully Automatic mode. In addition, the remote control can be used to select from six representative training rescue scenarios.
